Drone Top
Inspection

A modern aerial review offering clear-quality photos of roof and stack zones that street-level audits cannot access. Provided as a plus to our Property Reports or as a solo option for owners wanting separate tips—best for checking the real status of your top before agreeing to pricey fixes.

The modern approach

Traditional roof inspections can be difficult, often restricted by access limitations or safety concerns. Drone technology has changed that, offering a non-invasive way to assess roofs, chimneys, and hard-to-reach areas with high-resolution aerial images.

For homebuyers, adding a drone roof survey to a Level 2 or Level 3 Home Survey provides a clearer picture of a property's condition, helping to identify potential issues before committing to a purchase. Homeowners, meanwhile, often turn to us for an independent assessment when they’ve been advised to replace their roof but want reassurance that major works are truly necessary.

Our surveys provide detailed visual evidence to help you understand the real condition of your roof, whether you need to plan for maintenance, consider repairs, or simply gain peace of mind. With the ability to safely inspect everything from flat roofs to steep-pitched tiles and chimney stacks, a drone survey ensures you have the right information before making any costly decisions.

What can a drone roof survey detect?

From chimneys to flat roofs and awkward pitched angles, drones offer an innovative solution to safely reaching spots that traditional ground surveys can’t. Preventing or minimising any potential issues down the line, they can detect:

  • Cracked or missing tiles

  • Blocked gutters

  • Loose bricks and mortar on chimney stacks

  • Hidden valley gutters and junctions

  • Parapet walls, gutters and leadwork

Richard Russell Surveyors are registered with the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), which means we comply with the highest levels of safety and operational standards when it comes to flying drones and is fully insured for commercial drone use.
